The Franz Mayer Museum continues to refurbish its galleries and public spaces. In 2007, thanks to the generous sponsorship of UBS and Industrias Peñoles, we were able to open The Splendor of Silver and Ceramic Traditions galleries.

In 2008 two new spaces are planned, The Memory On Paper, which will exhibit important drawings from the collection of European and Mexican artists from the XV to the XX centuries, among whom are Rembrandt and Gustav Doré, and the Franz Mayer the Collector, a space providing an introduction to the museum, where the life of Franz Mayer will be explained, including the diverse facets that formed part of it and many of which became his passions. The exhibition will also show his intention and motivation to form a collection of decorative arts.
The refurbishment of the Franz Mayer Museum has been made possible thanks to five years of research that has allowed us to today have a more complete vision of the collection that will serve to make the galleries more conducive to new discourses and pieces that will be exhibited to the public for the first time, in order to promote reflection of decorative arts.

If you are interested in forming part of this transformation you can do so by sponsorship or making a donation, which can contribute to the creation of new halls, temporary exhibitions or the educational program carried out by Educational Services, an area dedicated to working with children, schools and non-governmental organizations supporting homeless children and the elderly.

Sponsorship

Donations

The Franz Mayer Museum has a donations program through which you can contribute to the maintenance, operation and improvement of any area of the museum that you choose.

Donations can be in two ways:

  • Monetary
  • In Kind: donations can be in the form of services or materials

The benefits for donors are:

  • The satisfaction of contributing to a museum and becoming actively involved in the mission of diffusing and enriching the decorative arts and contemporary design in Mexico.
  • Receive a report of the results obtained as a result of your donation.
  • Invitation to the Concierto de Reyes.
  • Tax-deductible donation receipt (as necessary)
